Tickets to all events run by the Life Models’ Society, including workshops and LMS-run life drawing, are available via Humanitix. Please check there for the most up-to-date events information.
For the health and safety of all, LMS staff may request attendees wear face masks during our events.
Please check Humanitix for location information including accessibility, as we use a number of venues across Melbourne for our events.
Prospective Member Workshops
As a workers collective, we require all potential new members to complete our Prospective Member Workshop, which is a one day, ~5hr workshop involving education about professionalism, consent, health and safety, as well as observing demonstrations from professional life models, and of course participating in practical activities to experience life modelling. Attendees will also receive a handbook to take home to learn more about life modelling.
These workshops provide an introduction to the culture of the LMS, and they are suitable for people of all levels of experience, whether this is no experience, or significant experience working as life model here in Melbourne or around the world.
You can assess, in a safe space, whether working as a life model is right for you.
The participation in one of our workshops does not automatically qualify membership of the Life Models’ Society. Upon satisfactory completion, participants will be invited to join the LMS or recommended to repeat the workshop if we feel you need extra support.
This is an interactive session of up to 20 models, and it is fully participatory so please be prepared to model nude. Once you have purchased a ticket, a list of requirements to bring and instructions will be sent to you prior to the workshop.
Cost is $150 full: $110 concession
To be notified about tickets to this workshop going on sale, please complete this registration form. When tickets go on sale for an upcoming Workshop, we will email all who have expressed interest via registration, with a link to purchase tickets. Please note that our workshops have strictly limited supply, and they usually sell out!

Workshops are via confirmed bookings only. You cannot attend if you have not pre-booked a ticket. We do our best to accommodate all potential models, however our sessions often sell out.
Important note about our refund policy:
Refunds for change of mind or other reasons are only available up to three days (72 hours) prior to the event. If you have previously registered your EOI to be notified when bookings open for a workshop, you will remain on that EOI list for future workshops and we will email you as soon as they open. You can register your EOI here, if you have not done so previously.
If you become ill within 72 hours of the workshop we ask you to notify us as soon as possible. Please do not attend if you are unwell or infectious. If you cancel due to illness prior to 24 hours of the workshop, we will refund 50% of your ticket cost. No refunds are available for cancellations within 24 hours of the workshop.
We do not offer refunds or rescheduling for no-shows, cancellations within 72 hours, or for attendee errors, such as attending on the wrong day or without required equipment. We are a not-for-profit organisation and try to keep our workshops as affordable as possible, so ticket prices only cover our costs such as the fees for staff, and there is no room for credits or transfers to other workshops.
If you are more than 15min late for the start of a session, you may be refused entry. No refunds will be given for late-comers. Please aim to arrive 15min prior to the start of the session.
